Women of the Green Book

  • Millcreek Commons 1354 East Chambers Avenue Millcreek, UT, 84106 United States (map)

In our 2026 partnership with Millcreek City for Black History Month, our 2025 Kaysville Tell the Story Black History Conference Keynote Speaker Jessica Guynn reprises her remarkable presentation of her research on the role women in Utah played in providing safe places during a dangerous travel period in U.S. history. In this presentation you will learn why a safety travel guide named “The Black Motorists’ Green Book” (known famously as “The Green Book”) was needed, was used to travel to and across Utah, and some of the women who provided safety for Black motorists.
